സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നന്നാക്കിക്കൂടാതവണ്ണം കുശവന്റെ പാത്രം ഉടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തെയും ഈ നഗരത്തെയും ഉടെച്ചുകളയും. അടക്കം ചെയ്‌വാൻ വേറെ സ്ഥലമില്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവരെ തോഫെത്തിൽ അടക്കംചെയ്യും.

- 12ഇങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തോടും അതിലെ നിവാസികളോടും ചെയ്യും; ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തെ തോഫെത്തിന്നു സമമാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
- 13മലിനമായിരിക്കുന്ന യെരൂശലേംവീടുകളും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ അരമനകളും അവർ മേല്പുരകളിൽവെച്ചു ആകാശത്തിലെ സർവ്വസൈന്യത്തിന്നും ധൂപം കാണിക്കയും അന്യദേവന്മാർക്കു പാനീയബലി പകരുകയും ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ വീടുകളും തന്നേ തോഫെത്ത് എന്ന സ്ഥലംപോലെയാകും.
