ഇങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തോടും അതിലെ നിവാസികളോടും ചെയ്യും; ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തെ തോഫെത്തിന്നു സമമാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

- 13മലിനമായിരിക്കുന്ന യെരൂശലേംവീടുകളും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ അരമനകളും അവർ മേല്പുരകളിൽവെച്ചു ആകാശത്തിലെ സർവ്വസൈന്യത്തിന്നും ധൂപം കാണിക്കയും അന്യദേവന്മാർക്കു പാനീയബലി പകരുകയും ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ വീടുകളും തന്നേ തോഫെത്ത് എന്ന സ്ഥലംപോലെയാകും.
- 14അനന്തരം യിരെമ്യാവു യഹോവ തന്നെ പ്രവചിപ്പാൻ അയിച്ചിരുന്ന തോഫെത്തിൽനിന്നു വന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരത്തിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു സകലജനത്തോടും:
