- 10ആരും തന്റെ ദാസനെക്കൊണ്ടും ദാസിയെക്കൊണ്ടും ഇനി അടിമവേല ചെയ്യിക്കാതെ അവരെ സ്വതന്ത്രരായി വിട്ടയക്കേണമെന്നുള്ള നിയമത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും സർവ്വജനവും അതു അനുസരിച്ചു അവരെ വിട്ടയച്ചിരുന്നു.
- 11പിന്നീടോ അവർ വ്യത്യാസം കാണിച്ചു, സ്വതന്ത്രരായി വിട്ടയച്ചിരുന്ന ദാസന്മാരെയും ദാസിമാരെയും മടക്കിവരുത്തി അവരെ വീണ്ടും ദാസീദാസന്മാരാക്കിത്തീർത്തു.

- 13യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളിൽ അവരോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തു:
- 14തന്നെത്താൻ നിനക്കു വില്ക്കയും ആറുസംവത്സരം നിന്നെ സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്ത എബ്രായസഹോദരനെ ഒടുക്കം ഏഴാം സംവത്സരത്തിൽ വിട്ടയക്കേണം; അവനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു വിട്ടയക്കേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ എന്റെ കല്പന അനുസരിച്ചില്ല, ചെവി ചായിച്ചതുമില്ല.
