എന്നാൽ അവർക്കു പകരം അവൻ എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ച പുത്രന്മാരെ യോശുവ പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്തു; അവരെ പ്രയാണത്തിൽ പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്യായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവർ അഗ്രചർമ്മികളായിരുന്നു.

- 9യഹോവ യോശുവയോടു: ഇന്നു ഞാൻ മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ നിന്ദ നിങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ഉരുട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ഇന്നുവരെ ഗില്ഗാൽ (ഉരുൾ) എന്നു പേർ പറയുന്നു.
