അനന്തരം ജനം ആർപ്പിടുകയും പുരോഹിതന്മാർ കാഹളം ഊതുകയും ചെയ്തു; ജനം കാഹളനാദംകേട്ടു അത്യുച്ചത്തിൽ ആർപ്പിട്ടപ്പോൾ മതിൽ വീണു; ജനം ഓരോരുത്തൻ നേരെ മുമ്പോട്ടു പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു കടന്നു പട്ടണം പിടിച്ചു.

- 22എന്നാൽ രാജ്യത്തെ ഒറ്റുനോക്കിയ രണ്ടു പുരുഷന്മാരോടു യോശുവ: വേശ്യയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു അവിടെ നിന്നു ആ സ്ത്രീയെയും അവൾക്കുള്ള സകലത്തെയും നിങ്ങൾ അവളോടു സത്യംചെയ്തതുപോലെ പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
