അവർ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു; പട അവരെ പിന്തുടർന്നു; പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നുള്ളവരെ അവർ അതതിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേവെച്ചു സംഹരിച്ചു.

- 43അവർ ബെന്യാമീന്യരെ വളഞ്ഞു ഓടിച്ചു ഗിബെയെക്കെതിരെ കിഴക്കു അവരുടെ വിശ്രാമസ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു പിടികൂടി.
- 44അങ്ങനെ ബെന്യാമീന്യരിൽ പതിനെണ്ണായിരംപേർ പട്ടുപോയി; അവർ എല്ലാവരും പരാക്രമശാലികൾ ആയിരുന്നു.
