ദാവീദുഗൃഹത്തിലുള്ള യോസേഫ് എന്നൊരു പുരുഷന്നു വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന കന്യകയുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു; ആ കന്യകയുടെ പേർ മറിയ എന്നു ആയിരുന്നു.

Daaveedugruhattilulla yoseph ennoru purushannu vivaaham nishchayichchirunna kanyakayute atukkal ayachchu; aa kanyakayute per mariya ennu aayirunnu.

25മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ എനിക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്ന നിന്ദ നീക്കുവാൻ കർത്താവു എന്നെ കടാക്ഷിച്ച നാളിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ എനിക്കു ചെയ്തുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അഞ്ചു മാസം ഒളിച്ചു പാർത്തു.
26ആറാം മാസത്തിൽ ദൈവം ഗബ്രീയേൽദൂതനെ നസറെത്ത് എന്ന ഗലീലപട്ടണത്തിൽ,
27ദാവീദുഗൃഹത്തിലുള്ള യോസേഫ് എന്നൊരു പുരുഷന്നു വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന കന്യകയുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു; ആ കന്യകയുടെ പേർ മറിയ എന്നു ആയിരുന്നു.
28ദൂതൻ അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അകത്തു ചെന്നു: കൃപലഭിച്ചവളേ, നിനക്കു വന്ദനം; കർത്താവു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29അവൾ ആ വാക്കു കേട്ടു ഭ്രമിച്ചു: ഇതു എന്തൊരു വന്ദനം എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു.
