Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of [this] threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.

4. 23ఒర్నానురాజైన నా యేలినవాడు దాని తీసికొని తన దృష్టికి అనుకూలమైనట్టు చేయును గాక; ఇదిగో దహనబలులకు ఎద్దులు కట్టెలకై నురిపిడి సామగ్రి నైవేద్యమునకు గోధుమ పిండి; ఇదియంతయు నేనిచ్చెదనని దావీదుతో అనెను.
5. 24రాజైన దావీదు అట్లు కాదు, నేను నీ సొత్తును ఊరక తీసికొని యెహోవాకు దహనబలులను అర్పించను, న్యాయమైన క్రయధనమిచ్చి దాని తీసికొందునని ఒర్నానుతో చెప్పి
