1. 18రెండవ గుంపు బేత్‌ హోరోనుకు పోవుమార్గమున సంచరించెను. మూడవ గుంపు అరణ్య సమీపమందుండు జెబోయిములోయ సరి హద్దు మార్గమున సంచరించెను.
2. 19హెబ్రీయులు కత్తులను ఈటెలను చేయించుకొందు రేమో అని ఫిలిష్తీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేశమందంతట కమ్మరవాండ్రు లేకుండచేసియుండిరి.
3. 20కాబట్టి ఇశ్రా యేలీయులందరు తమ నక్కులను పారలను గొడ్డండ్రను పోటకత్తులను పదును చేయించుటకై ఫిలిష్తీయులదగ్గరకు పోవలసి వచ్చెను.
4. 21అయితే నక్కులకును పారలకును మూడు ముండ్లుగల కొంకులకును గొడ్డండ్రకును మునుకోల కఱ్ఱలు సరిచేయుటకును ఆకు రాళ్లుమాత్రము వారియొద్ద నుండెను.
5. 22కాబట్టి యుద్ధదినమందు సౌలునొద్దను యోనా తాను నొద్దను ఉన్నజనులలోఒకని చేతిలోనైనను కత్తియే గాని యీటెయేగాని లేకపోయెను, సౌలునకును అతని కుమారుడైన యోనాతానునకును మాత్రము అవి యుండెను.
