ఫిలిష్తీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో యుద్ధముచేయుటకై ముప్పదివేల రథములను ఆరువేల గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులను సముద్రపుదరినుండు ఇసుకరేణువులంత విస్తారమైన జన సమూహమును సమకూర్చుకొని వచ్చిరి. వీరు బయలుదేరి బేతావెను తూర్పుదిక్కున మిక్మషులో దిగిరి.
