అయితే యోనాతాను తన తండ్రి జనులచేత చేయించిన ప్రమాణము వినలేదు. గనుక తన చేతికఱ్ఱ చాపి దాని కొనను తేనె పట్టులో ముంచి తన చెయ్యి నోటిలో పెట్టుకొనగా అతని కన్నులు ప్రకాశించెను.

Ayite yonaataanu tana tandri janulacheta cheyinchina pramaanamu vinaledu. Ganuka tana chetikarra chaapi daani konanu tene pattulo munchi tana cheyyi notilo pettukonagaa atani kannulu prakaashinchenu.

King James Version (KJV): But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that [was] in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.
World English Bible (WEB): But Jonathan didn’t hear when his father commanded the people with the oath. Therefore he put out the end of the rod that was in his hand and dipped it in the honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes brightened.

28జనులలో ఒకడునీ తండ్రి జనులచేత ప్రమాణము చేయించిఈ దినమున ఆహారము పుచ్చుకొనువాడు శపింపబడునని ఖండితముగా ఆజ్ఞాపించియున్నాడు; అందుచేతనే జనులు బహు బడలియున్నారని చెప్పెను.
29అందుకు యోనాతాను అందుచేత నా తండ్రి జనులను కష్టపెట్టినవాడాయెను; నేను ఈ తేనె కొంచెము పుచ్చుకొన్న మాత్రమున నా కన్నులు ఎంత ప్రకాశించుచున్నవో చూడుడి
