1. 8అమాలేకీయుల రాజైన అగగును ప్రాణముతో పట్టుకొని జనులనందరిని కత్తిచేత నిర్మూలము చేసెను
2. 9సౌలును జనులును కూడి అగగును, గొఱ్ఱెలలోను ఎడ్లలోను క్రొవ్విన గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలు మొదలైన వాటిలోను మంచి వాటిని నిర్మూలము చేయక కడగా నుంచి, పనికిరాని నీచపశువులన్నిటిని నిర్మూలముచేసిరి.
3. 10అప్పుడు యెహోవా వాక్కు సమూయేలునకు ప్రత్య క్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను
4. 11సౌలు నన్ను అనుసరింపక వెనుకతీసి నా ఆజ్ఞలను గైకొనకపోయెను గనుక అతనిని రాజుగా నిర్ణయించినందుకు నేను పశ్చాత్తాపపడు చున్నాను. అందుకు సమూయేలు కోపావేశుడై రాత్రి అంత యెహోవాకు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టుచుండెను.
5. 12ఉదయమున సమూయేలు లేచి సౌలును ఎదుర్కొనుటకు పోగా సౌలు కర్మెలునకువచ్చి అక్కడ జయసూచకమైన శిలను నిలిపి తిరిగి గిల్గాలునకు పోయెనన్న సమాచారము వినెను.
