1. 20దావీదును పట్టుకొనుటకై సౌలు దూతలను పంపెను; వీరు వచ్చి ప్రవక్తలు సమాజముగా కూడుకొని ప్రకటించుటయు, సమూయేలు వారిమీద నాయకుడుగా నిలుచుటయు చూడగా దేవుని ఆత్మ సౌలు పంపిన దూతలమీదికి వచ్చెను గనుక వారును ప్రకటింప నారంభించిరి.
2. 21ఈ సంగతి సౌలునకు వినబడినప్పుడు అతడు వేరు దూతలను పంపెను గాని వారును అటువలెనే ప్రకటించుచుండిరి. సౌలు మూడవసారి దూతలను పంపెను గాని వారును ప్రకటించుచుండిరి.
3. 22కడవరిసారి తానే రామాకు పోయి సేఖూ దగ్గరనున్న గొప్ప బావియొద్దకు వచ్చిసమూయేలును దావీదును ఎక్కడ ఉన్నారని అడుగగా ఒకడురామా దగ్గర నాయోతులో వారున్నా రని చెప్పెను.
4. 23అతడు రామా దగ్గరనున్న నాయోతునకు రాగా దేవుని ఆత్మ అతని మీదికి వచ్చెను గనుక అతడు ప్రయాణము చేయుచు రామాదగ్గరనున్న నాయోతునకు వచ్చువరకు ప్రకటించుచుండెను,
5. 24మరియు అతడు తన వస్త్రములను తీసివేసి ఆ నాటి రాత్రింబగళ్లు సమూయేలు ఎదుటనే ప్రకటించుచు, పైబట్టలేనివాడై పడియుండెను. అందు వలన సౌలును ప్రవక్తలలోనున్నాడా అను సామెత పుట్టెను.
