దావీదు నీవు ఏ దేశపువాడవు? ఎక్కడనుండి వచ్చితివని వాని నడిగెను. అందుకు వాడునేను ఐగుప్తీయుడనై పుట్టి అమాలేకీయుడైన యొకనికి దాసుడనైతిని; మూడు దినముల క్రిందట నేను కాయిలా పడగా నా యజమానుడు నన్ను విడిచిపెట్టి పోయెను.
Daaveedu neevu e deshapuvaadavu? Ekkadanundi vachchitivani vaani nadigenu. Anduku vaadunenu aigupteeyudanai putti amaalekeeyudaina yokaniki daasudanaitini; moodu dinamula krindata nenu kaayilaa padagaa naa yajamaanudu nannu vidichipetti poyenu.

- 14మేము దండెత్తి కెరేతీయుల దక్షిణ దేశమునకును యూదా దేశమునకును కాలేబు దక్షిణ దేశమునకును వచ్చి వాటిని దోచుకొని సిక్లగును కాల్చివేసితిమని చెప్పెను.
- 15ఆ దండును కలిసికొనుటకై నీవు నాకు దోవచూపుదువా అని దావీదు వాని నడుగగా వాడునేను నిన్ను చంపననియు నీ యజమానుని వశము చేయననియు దేవునిబట్టి నీవు నాకు ప్రమాణము చేసినయెడల ఆ దండును కలిసి కొనుటకు నీకు దోవచూపుదుననెను.
