యూదా వారు అరణ్యమందున్న కాపరుల దుర్గము దగ్గరకు వచ్చి సైన్యముతట్టు చూడగా వారు శవములై నేలపడియుండిరి, ఒకడును తప్పించుకొనలేదు.

- 25యెహోషాపాతును అతని జనులును వారి వస్తువులను దోచుకొనుటకు దగ్గరకు రాగా ఆ శవములయొద్ద విస్తారమైన ధనమును ప్రశస్తమైన నగలును కనబడెను; వారు తమకిష్టమైనంతమట్టుకు తీసికొని తాము కొని పో గలిగినంతకంటె ఎక్కువగా ఒలుచు కొనిరి; కొల్లసొమ్ము అతి విస్తారమైనందున దానిని కూర్చుటకు మూడు దినములు పట్టెను.
- 26నాల్గవ దినమున వారు బెరాకా లోయలో కూడిరి; అక్కడ వారు యెహోవాకు కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లించినందున నేటివరకును ఆ చోటికి బెరాకా లోయ యని పేరు.
