1. 24సిరియనులు చిన్నదండుతో వచ్చినను యూదావారు తమ పితరుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాను విసర్జించినందుకై యెహోవా వారి చేతికి అతివిస్తార మైన ఆ సైన్యమును అప్పగింపగా యోవాషుకు శిక్ష కలిగెను.
2. 25వారు యోవాషును విడచిపోయినప్పుడు అతడు మిక్కిలి రోగియై యుండెను. అప్పుడు యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదా కుమారుల ప్రాణహత్యదోషము నిమిత్తము అతని సేవకులు అతనిమీద కుట్రచేసి, అతడు పడకమీద ఉండగా అతని చంపిరి. అతడు చనిపోయిన తరు వాత జనులు దావీదు పట్టణమందు అతని పాతి పెట్టిరి గాని రాజుల సమాధులలో అతని పాతిపెట్టలేదు.
3. 26అతనిమీద కుట్రచేసినవారు అమ్మోనీయురాలైన షిమాతు కుమారుడగు జాబాదు, మోయాబురాలైన షిమీతు కుమారుడగు యెహోజాబాదు అనువారు.
4. 27అతని కుమారులను గూర్చియు, అతనిమీద చెప్పబడిన అనేకమైన దేవోక్తులను గూర్చియు, అతడు దేవుని మందిరమును బాగుచేయు టను గూర్చియు రాజుల సటీక గ్రంథములో వ్రాయబడి యున్నది. అతనికి బదులుగా అతని కుమారుడైన అమజ్యా రాజాయెను.
