3. 14అమజ్యా ఎదోమీయులను ఓడించి తిరిగి వచ్చిన తరువాత అతడు శేయీరువారి దేవతలను తీసికొనివచ్చి తనకు దేవతలుగా నిలిపి వాటికి నమస్కరించి ధూపము వేసెను.
4. 15అందుకొరకు యెహోవా కోపము అమజ్యా మీద రగులుకొనెను. ఆయన అతనియొద్దకు ప్రవక్తను ఒకని పంపగా అతడునీ చేతిలోనుండి తమ జనులను విడిపింప శక్తిలేని దేవతలయొద్ద నీవెందుకు విచారణ చేయుదువని అమజ్యాతో ననెను.
5. 16అతడు అమజ్యాతో మాటలాడుచుండగా రాజు అతని చూచినీవు రాజుయొక్క ఆలోచనకర్తలలో ఒకడవైతివా? ఊరకొనుము;నేను నిన్ను చంపనేల అని చెప్పగా ఆ ప్రవక్తనీవు ఈలాగున చేసి నా ఆలోచనను అంగీకరింపకపోవుట చూచి దేవుడు నిన్ను నశింపజేయనుద్దేశించి యున్నాడని నాకు తెలియునని చెప్పి యూరకొనెను.
