1అప్పుడు దేశపు జనులు యోషీయా కుమారుడైన యెహోయాహాజును స్వీకరించి యెరూషలేములో అతని తండ్రి స్థానమున అతనిని రాజుగా నియమించిరి.
2యెహోయాహాజు ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఇరువది మూడేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేములో మూడు నెలలు ఏలెను.
3ఐగుప్తురాజు యెరూషలేమునకు వచ్చి అతని తొలగించి, ఆ దేశమునకు రెండువందల మణుగుల వెండిని రెండు మణుగుల బంగారమును జుల్మానాగా నిర్ణయించి
4అతని సహోదరుడైన ఎల్యాకీమును యూదామీదను యెరూషలేముమీదను రాజుగా నియమించి, అతనికి యెహోయాకీము అను మారు పేరుపెట్టెను. నెకో అతని సహోదరుడైన యెహోయాహాజును పట్టుకొని ఐగుప్తునకు తీసికొని పోయెను.
