ఏలీయా ద్వారా యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాటప్రకారము అతడు చనిపోయెను. అతనికి కుమారుడు లేనందున యూదా రాజైన యెహోషాపాతు కుమారుడైన యెహోరాము ఏలుబడిలో రెండవ సంవత్సరమందు యెహోరాము అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.
