And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, [that] she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that [was] in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

2. 2రాణియైన ఎస్తేరు ఆవరణములో నిలువబడి యుండుట రాజు చూడగా ఆమెయందు అతనికి దయ పుట్టెను. రాజు తన చేతిలోనుండు బంగారపు దండమును ఎస్తేరుతట్టు చాపగా ఎస్తేరు దగ్గరకు వచ్చి దండము యొక్క కొన ముట్టెను.
3. 3రాజురాణియైన ఎస్తేరూ, నీకేమి కావలెను? నీ మనవి యేమిటి? రాజ్యములో సగము మట్టుకు నీకను గ్రహించెదనని ఆమెతో చెప్పగా
4. 4ఎస్తేరు రాజునకు యుక్తముగా తోచినయెడల నేను రాజుకొరకు సిద్ధము చేయించిన విందునకు రాజవైన తామును హామానును నేడు రావలెనని కోరుచున్నానని ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను.
