1. 10ఆ బిడ్డ పెద్దవాడైన తరువాత ఆమె ఫరో కుమార్తె యొద్దకు అతని తీసికొని వచ్చెను, అతడు ఆమెకు కుమారుడాయెను. ఆమె నీటిలోనుండి ఇతని తీసితినని చెప్పి అతనికి మోషే అను పేరు పెట్టెను.
2. 11ఆ దినములలో మోషే పెద్దవాడై తన జనులయొద్దకు పోయి వారి భారములను చూచెను. అప్పుడతడు తన జనులలో ఒక హెబ్రీయుని ఒక ఐగుప్తీయుడు కొట్టగా చూచెను.
3. 12అతడు ఇటు అటు తిరిగి చూచి యెవడును లేకపోగా ఆ ఐగుప్తీయుని చంపి యిసుకలో వాని కప్పి పెట్టెను.
4. 13మరునాడు అతడు బయట నడిచి వెళ్లుచుండగా హెబ్రీయులైన మనుష్యులిద్దరు పోట్లాడుచుండిరి.
5. 14అప్పుడతడు అన్యాయము చేసినవాని చూచి నీ వేల నీ పొరుగు వాని కొట్టుచున్నావని అడుగగా అతడు - మామీద నిన్ను అధికారినిగాను తీర్పరినిగాను నియమించినవాడెవడు? నీవు ఆ ఐగుప్తీయుని చంపినట్లు నన్నును చంపవలెనని అనుకొనుచున్నావా అనెను. అందుకు మోషే - నిశ్యముగా ఈ సంగతి బయలు పాడెననుకొని భయపడెను.
