తరువాత అతని సహోదరుడు బయటికి వచ్చినప్పుడు అతని చెయ్యి ఏశావు మడిమెను పట్టుకొని యుండెను గనుక అతనికి యాకోబు అను పేరు పెట్ట బడెను. ఆమె వారిని కనినప్పుడు ఇస్సాకు అరువది యేండ్లవాడు.

- 28ఇస్సాకు ఏశావు తెచ్చిన వేట మాంసమును తినుచుండెను గనుక అతని ప్రేమించెను; రిబ్కా యాకోబును ప్రేమించెను.
