యాకోబు తాను పారిపోవు చున్నానని సిరియావాడైన లాబానుకు తెలియచేయక పోవుట వలన అతని మోసపుచ్చినవాడాయెను.

18కనాను దేశమునకు తన తండ్రియైన ఇస్సాకు నొద్దకు వెళ్లుటకు తన పశువులన్నిటిని, తాను సంపాదించిన సంపద యావత్తును, పద్దనరాములో తాను సంపాదించిన ఆస్తి యావత్తును తీసికొని పోయెను.
19లాబాను తన గొఱ్ఱెలబొచ్చు కత్తిరించుటకు వెళ్లియుండగా రాహేలు తన తండ్రి యింటనున్న గృహ దేవతలను దొంగిలెను.
20యాకోబు తాను పారిపోవు చున్నానని సిరియావాడైన లాబానుకు తెలియచేయక పోవుట వలన అతని మోసపుచ్చినవాడాయెను.
21అతడు తనకు కలిగిన దంతయు తీసికొని పారిపోయెను. అతడు లేచి నది దాటి గిలాదను కొండతట్టు అభిముఖుడై వెళ్లెను.
22యాకోబు పారిపోయెనని మూడవ దినమున లాబానుకు తెలుపబడెను.
