1. 18మేము ఆకాశరాణికి ధూపము వేయకయు ఆమెకు పానార్పణములు అర్పింపకయు మానినప్పటినుండి సమస్తము మాకు తక్కువైనది, మేము ఖడ్గముచేతను క్షామముచేతను క్షీణించుచున్నాము.
2. 19మేము ఆకాశ రాణికి ధూపము వేయగాను, ఆమెకు పానార్పణములు అర్పింపగాను, మా పురుషుల సెలవులేకుండ ఆమెకు పిండి వంటలు చేయుచున్నామా? ఆమెకు పానార్పణములు పోయుచున్నామా? అని వారు చెప్పగా
3. 20యిర్మీయా ఆ స్త్రీ పురుషులందరితో, అనగా తనకు అట్లు ప్రత్యుత్తర మిచ్చిన ప్రజలందరితో ఇట్లనెను
4. 21యూదాపట్టణముల లోను యెరూషలేము వీధులలోను మీరును మీ పితరులును మీ రాజులును మీ యధిపతులును దేశప్రజలును ధూపము వేసిన సంగతి యెహోవా జ్ఞాపకముచేసికొనలేదా? అదే గదా ఆయన మనస్సునకు వచ్చెను.
5. 22యెహోవా మీ దుష్టక్రియలను చూచి మీరు చేయు హేయకృత్యములను ఎంచి యికను సహింపలేకపోయెను గనుక నేడున్నట్లుగా మీ దేశము పాడుగాను ఎడారిగాను శాపాస్పదముగాను నిర్జనము గాను ఆయన చేసెను.
