1. 3వారునీ స్వజనుల కుమార్తెల లోనేగాని నా జనులలోనేగాని స్త్రీ లేదను కొని, సున్నతి పొందని ఫిలిష్తీయులలోనుండి కన్యను తెచ్చుకొనుటకు వెళ్లు చున్నావా? అని అతని నడిగిరి. అందుకు సమ్సోనుఆమె నాకిష్టమైనది గనుక ఆమెను నాకొరకు తెప్పించుమని తన తండ్రితో చెప్పెను.
2. 4అయితే ఫిలిష్తీయులకేమైన చేయు టకై యెహోవాచేత అతడు రేపబడెనన్న మాట అతని తలిదండ్రులు తెలిసికొనలేదు. ఆ కాలమున ఫిలిష్తీ యులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను ఏలుచుండిరి.
3. 5అప్పుడు సమ్సోను తన తలిదండ్రులతోకూడ తిమ్నాతు నకుపోయి, తిమ్నాతు ద్రాక్షతోటలవరకు వచ్చినప్పుడు, కొదమసింహము అతని యెదుటికి బొబ్బరించుచువచ్చెను.
4. 6యెహోవా ఆత్మ అతనిని ప్రేరేపింపగా అతనిచేతిలో ఏమియు లేకపోయినను, ఒకడు మేకపిల్లను చీల్చునట్లు అతడు దానిని చీల్చెను. అతడు తాను చేసినది తన తండ్రితోనైనను తల్లితో నైనను చెప్పలేదు.
5. 7అతడు అక్క డికి వెళ్లి ఆ స్త్రీతో మాటలాడినప్పుడు ఆమెయందు సమ్సోనుకు ఇష్టము కలిగెను.
