ఆలాగున లేవీయులు జనులందరిని ఓదార్చి మీరు దుఃఖము మానుడి, ఇది పరిశుద్ధదినము, మీరు దుఃఖ పడకూడదని వారితో అనిరి.

9జనులందరు ధర్మశాస్త్రగ్రంథపు మాటలు విని యేడ్వ మొదలుపెట్టగా, అధికారియైన నెహెమ్యాయు యాజకుడును శాస్త్రియునగు ఎజ్రాయును జనులకు బోధించు లేవీయులునుమీరు దుఃఖపడవద్దు, ఏడ్వవద్దు, ఈ దినము మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు ప్రతిష్ఠిత దినమని జనులతో చెప్పిరి.

12ఆ తరువాత జనులు తమకు తెలియజేయబడిన మాటలన్నిటిని గ్రహించి, తినుటకును త్రాగుటకును లేనివారికి ఫలాహారములు పంపించుటకును సంభ్రమముగా ఉండుటకును ఎవరి యిండ్లకు వారు వెళ్లిరి.
13రెండవ దినమందు జనులందరి పెద్దలలో ప్రధానులైన వారును యాజకులును లేవీయులును ధర్మశాస్త్రగ్రంథపుమాటలు వినవలెనని శాస్త్రియైన ఎజ్రా యొద్దకు కూడి వచ్చిరి.
