మోయాబీయులు మిద్యాను పెద్దలతో ఎద్దు బీటి పచ్చికను నాకివేయునట్లు ఈ జనసమూహము మన చుట్టు ఉన్నది యావత్తును ఇప్పుడు నాకివేయు ననిరి. ఆ కాలమందు సిప్పోరు కుమారుడైన బాలాకు మోయాబీయులకు రాజు.

- 6కాబట్టి నీవు దయచేసి వచ్చి నా నిమిత్తము ఈ జనమును శపించుము; వారు నాకంటె బలవంతులు; వారిని హతము చేయుటకు నేను బలమొందుదునేమో; అప్పుడు నేను ఈ దేశములోనుండి వారిని తోలివేయుదును; ఏలయనగా నీవు దీవించువాడు దీవింపబడుననియు శపించువాడు శపించబడుననియు నేనెరుగుదును.
