தானியேல் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் தேவனிடம் மூன்றுமுறை ஜெபம் செய்வான். தானியேல் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் மூன்றுமுறை முழங்காலில் நின்று தேவனிடம் ஜெபித்து அவரைப் போற்றுவான். தானியேல் இப்புதிய சட்டத்தைக் கேள்விப்பட்டதும் தனது வீட்டிற்குப் போய் தனது அறையில் உள்ள மாடியின்மீது ஏறினான். தானியேல் எருசலேமை நோக்கியிருக்கிற ஜன்னல் அருகில் போய் முழங்காலிட்டு எப்பொழுதும் செய்வதுபோன்று ஜெபித்தான்.

4. 11அப்பொழுது அந்த மனுஷர் கூட்டங்கூடி, தானியேல் தன் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக ஜெபம்பண்ணி விண்ணப்பம்செய்கிறதைக் கண்டார்கள்.
5. 12பின்பு அவர்கள் ராஜாவுக்கு முன்பாக வந்து, ராஜாவின் தாக்கீதைக்குறித்து: எந்த மனுஷனாகிலும்முப்பது நாள்வரையில் ராஜாவாகிய உம்மைத்தவிர எந்த தேவனையானாலும் மனுஷனையானாலும் நோக்கி யாதொரு காரியத்தைக்குறித்து விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணினால், அவன் சிங்கங்களின் கெபியிலே போடப்படவேண்டும் என்று நீர் கட்டளைப்பத்திரத்தில் கையெழுத்து வைத்தீர் அல்லவா என்றார்கள். அதற்கு ராஜா: அந்தக் காரியம் மேதியருக்கும் பெர்சியருக்கும் இருக்கிற மாறாத பிரமாணத்தின்படி உறுதியாக்கப்பட்டதே என்றான்.
