நதியில் இருக்கிற மீன்கள் செத்து, நதி நாறிப்போம்; அப்பொழுது நதியில் இருக்கிற தண்ணீரை எகிப்தியர் குடிக்கக் கூடாமல் அரோசிப்பார்கள்; இதினால் நானே கர்த்தர் என்பதை அறிந்துகொள்வாய் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

19மேலும், கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ ஆரோனிடத்தில் உன் கோலை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு எகிப்தின் நீர்நிலைகளாகிய அவர்கள் வாய்க்கால்கள் மேலும் நதிகள்மேலும் குளங்கள்மேலும் தண்ணீர் நிற்கிற எல்லா இடங்கள்மேலும், அவைகள் இரத்தமாகும்படிக்கு, உன் கையை நீட்டு; அப்பொழுது எகிப்து தேசம் எங்கும் மரப்பாத்திரங்களிலும் கற்பாத்திரங்களிலும் இரத்தம் உண்டாயிருக்கும் என்று சொல் என்றார்.
