13यों शाऊल उस विश्वासघात के कारण मर गया, जो उस ने यहोवा से किया था; क्योंकि उस ने यहोवा का वचन टाल दिया था, फिर उस ने भूतसिध्दि करनेवाली से पूछकर सम्मति ली थी।
14उस ने यहोवा से न पूछा था, इसलिये यहोवा ने उसे मारकर राज्य को यिशै के पुत्रा दाऊद को दे दिया।
