4. 23परन्तु दाऊद ने उनकी गिनती बीस वर्ष की अवस्था के तीचे न की, क्योंकि यहोवा ने इस्राएल की गिनती आकाश के तारों के बराबर बढ़ाने के लिये कहा था।
5. 24सरूयाह का पुत्रा योआब गिनती लेने लगा, पर निपटा न सका क्योंकि ईश्वर का क्रोध इस्राएल पर भड़का, और यह गिनती राजा दाऊद के इतिहास में नहीं लिखी गई।
