Jo log udhar se chale aa rahe the unhom ne yah dekh kar ki maarg par ek loth padee hai, aur usake paas sinh khadaa hai, us nagar mem jaakar jahaam vah boodhaa nabee rahataa thaa yah samaachaar sunaayaa.

King James Version (KJV): And, behold, men passed by, and saw the carcase cast in the way, and the lion standing by the carcase: and they came and told [it] in the city where the old prophet dwelt.

26यह सुनकर उस नबी ने जो उसको मार्ग पर से लौटा ले आया था, कहा, परमेश्वर का वही जन होगा, जिस ने यहोवा के वचन के विरूद्ध किया था, इस कारण यहोवा ने उसको सिंह के पंजे में पड़ने दिया; और यहोवा के उस वचन के अनुसार जो उस ने उस से कहा था, सिंह ने उसे फाड़कर मार डाला होगा।
27तब उस ने अपने बेटों से कहा, मेरे लिये गदहे पर काठी बान्धो; जब उन्हों ने काठी बान्धी,
