तो जब दाऊद के सेवक कर्मेल को अबीगैल के पास पहुंचे, तब उस से कहने लगे, कि दाऊद ने हमें तेरे पास इसलिये भेजा है कि तू उसकी पत्नी बने।
To jab daaood ke sevak karmel ko abeegail ke paas pahunche, tab us se kahane lage, ki daaood ne hamem tere paas isaliye bhejaa hai ki too usakee patnee bane.

- 41तब वह उठी, और मुंह के बल भूमि पर गिर दण्डवत् करके कहा, तेरी दासी अपने प्रभु के सेवकों के चरण धोने के लिये लौंडी बने।
- 42तब अबीगैल फुर्ती से उठी, और गदहे पर चढ़ी, और उसकी पांच सहेलियां उसके पीछे पीछे हो ली; और वह दाऊद के दूतों के पीछे पीछे गई; और उसकी पत्नी हो गई।
