हम तम्बुओं ही में रहा करते हैं, और अपने पुरखा योनादाब की बात मानकर उसकी सारी आज्ञाओं के अनुसार काम करते हैं।

Ham tambuom hee mem rahaa karate haim, aur apane purakhaa yonaadaab kee baat maanakar usakee saaree aajnyaaom ke anusaar kaam karate hain.

8इसलिये हम रेकाब के पुत्रा अपने पुरखा योनादाब की बात मानकर, उसकी सारी आज्ञाओं के अनुसार चलते हैं, न हम और न हमारी स्त्रियां वा पुत्रा- पुत्रियां कभी दाख मधु पीती हैं,
9और न हम घर बनाकर उन में रहते हैं। हम न दाख की बारी, न खेत, और न बीज रखते हैं;
10हम तम्बुओं ही में रहा करते हैं, और अपने पुरखा योनादाब की बात मानकर उसकी सारी आज्ञाओं के अनुसार काम करते हैं।
11परन्तु जब बाबुल के राजा नबूकदनेस्सर ने इस देश पर चढ़ाई की, तब हम ने कहा, चलो, कसदियों और अरामियों के दलों के डर के मारे यरूशलेम में जाएं। इस कारण हम अब यरूशलेम में रहते हैं।
12तब यहोवा का यह वचन यिर्मयाह के पास पहुंचा।
