ಇವನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಪಸ್ದವ್ಮೆಾಮಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಜವೆಗೋಧಿ ತುಂಬಿರುವ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂಡಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿರುವಾಗ ಜನರು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.

- 14ಆಗ ಇವರು ಆ ಹೊಲದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು; ಕರ್ತನು ಮಹಾ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದನು.
- 15ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಅದುಲ್ಲಾಮ್‌ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿ ಗುಡ್ಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು. ಅದೇ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ರೆಫಾಯಿಮ್‌ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದಿತ್ತು.
