4. 16ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ತಾವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೋತುಹೋದದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಅವರು ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅರಾಮ್ಯ ರನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡರು. ಹದರೆಜರನ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿ ಯಾದ ಶೋಫಕನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
5. 17ಅದು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಾಗ ಅವನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಯೊರ್ದನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಅವರಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದರು.
