2. 15ಅವರು ಅವನ ಎದುರಿ ನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಓಡಿಹೋದದ್ದನ್ನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷೈನ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರು. ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
3. 16ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ತಾವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೋತುಹೋದದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಅವರು ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅರಾಮ್ಯ ರನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡರು. ಹದರೆಜರನ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿ ಯಾದ ಶೋಫಕನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
4. 17ಅದು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಾಗ ಅವನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಯೊರ್ದನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಅವರಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಿಗೆದುರಾಗಿ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ವ್ಯೂಹಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದರು.
5. 18ಆದರೆ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ದಾವೀದನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ಸಾವಿರ ರಥವುಳ್ಳವರನ್ನೂ ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಕಾಲಾಳು ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಶೋಫಕನನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿದನು.ಹದರೆಜರನ ಸೇವಕರು ತಾವು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೋಲಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಅವರು ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರಾದರು. ತರುವಾಯ ಅರಾ ಮ್ಯರು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದರು.
