1. 1ಇದರ ತರುವಾಯ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ನಾಹಾಷನು ಸತ್ತನು; ಅವನ ಮಗನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಆಳಿ ದನು.
2. 2ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು--ಹಾನೂನನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ನಾಹಾಷನು ನನಗೆ ಕೃಪೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹಾನೂನನಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಕೃಪೆ ತೋರಿಸುವೆನು ಅಂದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆದರಣೆ ಕೊಡಲು ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿ ಸಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆದರಣೆ ಕೊಡಲು ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾನೂನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
3. 3ಆದರೆ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ಹಾನೂನನಿಗೆ--ದಾವೀದನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಆದರಣೆ ಕೊಡುವವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಘನಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನೀನು ನೆನಸು ತ್ತಿಯೋ? ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರು ಶೋಧಿಸಲೂ ಕೆಡವಿ ಹಾಕಲೂ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪಾಳತಿ ನೋಡಲೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅಂದರು.
4. 4ಆದದರಿಂದ ಹಾನೂ ನನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೋಳಿಸಿ ಅವರ ಅಂಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೊಂಟದ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
