2. 41ಆಗ ಅದೋನೀಯನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರೂ ತಿಂದು ತೀರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಯೋವಾಬನು ತುತೂರಿಯ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ--ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಗದ್ದಲದ ಶಬ್ದ ಯಾಕೆ ಅಂದನು.
3. 42ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡು ತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಯಾಜಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಎಬ್ಯಾತಾರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಬಂದನು. ಅದೋನೀ ಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಒಳಗೆ ಬಾ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೇ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತೀ ಅಂದನು.
4. 43ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅದೋನೀಯನಿಗೆ--ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯ ನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
