ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಏನಾಯಿ ತಂದರೆ, ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಹಳ್ಳವು ಬತ್ತಿಹೋಯಿತು.

5ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಾತಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಅಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೊರ್ದನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ಕೆರೀತ್‌ ಹಳ್ಳದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸ ವಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
6ಕಾಗೆಗಳು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದವು. ಅವನು ಆ ಹಳ್ಳದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
7ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಏನಾಯಿ ತಂದರೆ, ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಹಳ್ಳವು ಬತ್ತಿಹೋಯಿತು.
8ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ--
9ನೀನೆದ್ದು ಚೀದೋನಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಚಾರೆಪ್ತಾಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರು; ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಅಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ವಿಧವೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
