ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ತಮಗೆ ದೊರಕಿದ ತಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವದನ್ನಾದರೂ ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ತಿಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿತ್ತು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಹರಿಸ ಲ್ಪಡದವರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.

28ಆಗ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಆಹಾರ ತಿನ್ನುವವನು ಶಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಜನರು ದಣಿದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.
29ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋನಾ ತಾನನು--ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಶ್ರಮೆಪಡಿಸಿ ದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ರುಚಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಕಳೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವೆಂದು ನೋಡು.
30ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ತಮಗೆ ದೊರಕಿದ ತಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವದನ್ನಾದರೂ ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ತಿಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿತ್ತು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಹರಿಸ ಲ್ಪಡದವರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.
31ಜನರು ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಕ್ಮಾಷಿನಿಂದ ಅಯ್ಯಾಲೋ ನಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಸದೆಬಡಿದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ದಣಿದುಹೋದರು.
32ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಕೊಳ್ಳೇ ಮಾಡಿದವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ದನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕರುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿದು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೊಯ್ದು ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ರಕ್ತದೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಿಂದರು.
