ಆಗ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಆಹಾರ ತಿನ್ನುವವನು ಶಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಜನರು ದಣಿದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.

- 27ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಇದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಜೇನು ತೊಟ್ಟಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿ ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಕಳೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವು.
- 28ಆಗ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಆಹಾರ ತಿನ್ನುವವನು ಶಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಜನರು ದಣಿದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.
- 29ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋನಾ ತಾನನು--ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಶ್ರಮೆಪಡಿಸಿ ದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ರುಚಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಕಳೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವೆಂದು ನೋಡು.
- 30ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ತಮಗೆ ದೊರಕಿದ ತಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವದನ್ನಾದರೂ ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ತಿಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿತ್ತು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಹರಿಸ ಲ್ಪಡದವರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.
