ದಾವೀದನು ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಕುರಿ ಕಾಯುವವನ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಇಷಯನು ತನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿ ಹೊರಡುವಾಗ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿ ಇರುವ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.

Daaveedanu udayadalli eddu kuri kaayuvavana vashakke kurigalannu bittu tanna tandeyaada ishayanu tanage aajnyaapisida haageye takkondu hogi sainyavu yuddhakke aarbhatisi horaduvaaga saamagri iruva sthalakke bandanu.

King James Version (KJV): And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle.

22ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ತಾನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದದ್ದನ್ನು ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿ ಕಾಯುವವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟು ರಣರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿದನು.
