ಆಗ ಸೌಲನ ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ದಾವೀದನು ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ದನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
Aaga saulana sevakaru avanige--daaveedanu ee prakaaravaagi maatanaadi danendu helidaru.

- 22ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಗುಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ--ಇಗೋ, ಅರಸನು ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅರಸನ ಅಳಿಯ ನಾಗು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
- 23ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೌಲನ ಸೇವಕರು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಕಿವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು--ನಾನು ದರಿದ್ರನೂ ಅಲ್ಪನಾಗಿ ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪ ಟ್ಟವನೂ ಆಗಿರುವಾಗ ನಾನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಅಳಿಯ ನಾಗುವದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಪವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣು ತ್ತದೆಯೋ ಅಂದನು.
- 24ಆಗ ಸೌಲನ ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ದಾವೀದನು ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ದನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
- 25ಆದರೆ ಸೌಲನು-- ದಾವೀದ ನನ್ನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬೀಳಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನೆನಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ--ಅರಸನು ಯಾವ ತೆರವನ್ನೂ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸದೆ ತನ್ನ ಶತ್ರು ಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಮುಂದೊಗಲನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸು ತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
- 26ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಅಳಿಯನಾಗುವದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿತು.
