ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ ದಿವಸಗಳು ಈಡೇರುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂರು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೊಗ ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದು ತಾನು ಅಳಿಯನಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯಾದ ವಿಾಕಲಳನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

- 28ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದೂ ತನ್ನ ಮಗಳಾದ ವಿಾಕಲಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾಳೆಂದೂ ಸೌಲನು ತಿಳುಕೊಂಡನು;
- 29ಸೌಲನು ದಾವೀದನಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟನು; ಸೌಲನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡದೆ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಶತ್ರುವಾಗಿದ್ದನು.ಆಗ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ಹೊರಟರು, ಅವರು ಹೊರಟ ತರುವಾಯ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೌಲನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೇವಕ ರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ನಡಕೊಂಡನು. ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಹೆಸರು ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
