1. 3ದಾವೀದನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಮೋವಾಬ್‌ ದೇಶದ ಮಿಚ್ಪೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡುವನೋ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ತಿಳಿಯುವವರೆಗೂ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಗಳು ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರತಂದು ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
2. 4ದಾವೀದನು ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ದಿವಸಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರು ಆ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
3. 5ಆದರೆ ಗಾದ್‌ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿರದೆ ಯೆಹೂದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬಾ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಹೊರಟು ಹೆರೆತ್‌ ಎಂಬ ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.
4. 6ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡವಿರುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದರೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಸೌಲನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. (ಸೌಲನು ಗಿಬೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು; ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು.)
5. 7ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ--ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ಕೇಳಿರಿ; ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಒಳಸಂಚು ನಡಿಸು ವಂತೆ ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಹೊಲ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇತೋಟಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವನೋ? ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಯಜಮಾನರಾಗಿಯೂ ನೂರಕ್ಕೆ ಯಜಮಾನರಾಗಿಯೂ ಇಡುವನೋ?
