ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅವನಿಗೆಇಗೋ, ನಾವು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಭಯಪಡುತ್ತೇವೆ; ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸೈನ್ಯ ಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೆಯಾಲಾಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಅಧಿಕವಾದ ಭಯವಾಗುವದು ಅಂದರು.
Aaga daaveedana manushyaru avanigeigo, naavu illi yehoodadalliruvaagale bhayapadutteve; aadare naavu philishtiyara sainya galige virodhavaagi keyaalaakke hodare eshtu adhikavaada bhayavaaguvadu andaru.

- 2ಆದದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನು--ನಾನು ಈ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿ ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯಲು ಹೋಗಲೋ ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತ ನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು; ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ತನು--ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೆಯಾಲಾವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು ಅಂದನು.
- 3ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಅವನಿಗೆಇಗೋ, ನಾವು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಭಯಪಡುತ್ತೇವೆ; ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸೈನ್ಯ ಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೆಯಾಲಾಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಅಧಿಕವಾದ ಭಯವಾಗುವದು ಅಂದರು.
- 4ದಾವೀ ದನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ನೀನೆದ್ದು ಕೆಯಾಲಾಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗು; ನಾನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡು ವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
- 5ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನೂ ತನ್ನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೂ ಕೆಯಾಲಾಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಅವರ ದನಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದನು. ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದಾವೀದನು ಕೆಯಾಲಾದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದನು.
