ಇಂದಿಗೆ ಮೂರನೇ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣದೆ ಹೋದ ನಿನ್ನ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯ ಇಡಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವು ದೊರಕಿದವು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅಭಿಲಾಷೆ ಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯಾರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರುವದು? ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅಲ್ಲವೋ ಅಂದನು.

- 19ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತ ರವಾಗಿ--ದರ್ಶಿಯು ನಾನೇ; ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಗುಡ್ಡದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿ ಹೋಗು, ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ತಿನ್ನಬೇಕು; ನಾಳೆ ಹೊತ್ತಾರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.

- 21ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೌಲನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ವಾಗಿ--ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಗೋತ್ರದವನಲ್ಲವೇ? ಇದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಗೋತ್ರವು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಗೋತ್ರವು ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾದದ್ದಲ್ಲವೇ? ನೀನು ಯಾಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೀ ಅಂದನು.
- 22ಆಗ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಸೌಲನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ಕರ ತಂದು ಅತಿಥಿಗಳ ಕೊಠಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
