ಆಗ ಅಡಿಗೆಯವನು ಒಂದು ಮುಂದೊಡೆಯನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ತಂದು ಅದನ್ನು ಸೌಲನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಆಗ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಇದು ನಿನ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಿದ್ದು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತಿನ್ನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಈ ವರೆಗೂ ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೌಲನು ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮುವೇಲನ ಸಂಗಡ ಊಟಮಾಡಿದನು.

- 24ಆಗ ಅಡಿಗೆಯವನು ಒಂದು ಮುಂದೊಡೆಯನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ತಂದು ಅದನ್ನು ಸೌಲನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಆಗ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಇದು ನಿನ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಿದ್ದು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತಿನ್ನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಈ ವರೆಗೂ ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೌಲನು ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮುವೇಲನ ಸಂಗಡ ಊಟಮಾಡಿದನು.
- 25ಅವರು ಗುಡ್ಡದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಸಮು ವೇಲನು ಮಾಳಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೌಲನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು.
- 26ಅವರು ಸೂರ್ಯೋದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಸೌಲನನ್ನು ಮಾಳಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರೆದು--ಏಳು, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೌಲನು ಎದ್ದನು; ಆಗ ಸೌಲನೂ ಸಮುವೇಲನೂ ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೊರಟರು.ಊರಿನ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ದೇವರ ವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಲ್ಲು; ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗಲು ಹೇಳು ಅಂದನು.
