ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇಲೆ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಆಳಿದನು.

- 16ಅರಸನು ತಮಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ ಹೋದ ನೆಂದು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ನೋಡಿ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ದಾವೀದನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಭಾಗವೇನು? ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್ಯರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗುಡಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ; ದಾವೀ ದನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೋ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ಗುಡಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
- 17ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇಲೆ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಆಳಿದನು.
- 18ಆಗ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಕಪ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಗೊತ್ತುಗಾರನಾದ ಹದೋರಾಮನನ್ನು ಕಳು ಹಿಸಲು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು, ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಲು ಆತುರಪಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ರಥವನ್ನೇರಿದನು.ಹೀಗೆ ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ದಾವೀದನ ಮನೆಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿಬಿದ್ದರು.
- 19ಹೀಗೆ ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ದಾವೀದನ ಮನೆಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿಬಿದ್ದರು.
